Dressing the nation: The migrant contribution to Textiles from 1950-2000. Harminder Bhogal is invited by the University of Wolverhampton to speak on the migrant contribution to textiles from 1950-2000. Harminder said that she will talk about CEAL’s flagship Industrial Textiles projects (SHIE & LITE) funded by the Heritage Lottery. Why an urgent need was felt to bring to surface stories of 1st generation migrants in particular women who to date remain largely under-represented. Our projects scratched the surface and there still remains much to do. She will discuss what, why, how and the results of our efforts including successes and challenges.
